Diamond Compounds, Slurries, and Suspensions
|
Compounds
|
| |
|
As the lapping and
polishing industries continue to evolve into the next millennium, so too
have the Compounds used in these applications. We offer a complete line
of Diamond and Borazon Compounds specifically tailored to improve the
performance of lapping and polishing processes. The ultimate goal is to
achieve the highest surface quality and consistency for the end user of
the product. Our compounds take polishing from an art to a science!

Liquid Diamond
Powder
- Diamond powder dispersed in ultrapure water.
- Eliminates agglomerates which can occur in submicron powders.
- Flat lapping and polishing applications.
- SJK-5, RJK-1, Polycrystalline or Natural diamond.
- Diamond sizes less than 4 microns. |
 |
| |
 |
Diamond Slurry
- Diamond powder dispersed in stabilized vehicles.
- Lapping and polishing applications.
- Available in Monocrystalline diamond.
- K-700 and K-450 compatible with petroleum distilates.
- Tailor-made to meet specific requirements. |
|
Suspensions
|
| |
Understanding
a suspension's makeup is the first step in assuring that it plays an
effective role in lapping and polishing.
GE Micron Products
first introduced a product called "Liquid Diamond Powder."
This LDP has now evolved into many types of formulations known as Suspensions.
What
are Microscopic Diamond Suspensions? First and foremost,
it is a solution containing liquid diamond powder in a
stabilized and non-sedimenting form.
|
| |
Diamond
Suspensions
- Diamond powder in stabilized and non-sedimenting vehicles.
- Lapping and polishing applications.
- Available in Mono, Resin, Poly or Natural Diamond.
- Available in trigger and pump spray bottles.
- Four general types of suspensions: |
|
| |
|
Series-1000
Straight oil with petroleum base and additives. Available
in many viscosities.
Series-2000
Straight water, for use where exceptional cleaning is required
and where petroleum contamination is prohibited.
Series-3000
Water/oil suspensions, compliments the use of oil as well
as water for achieving more productive results.
Series-4000
Emulsifiable Water/Oil suspensions. For use
on metals, ferrites, ceramics, and sintered parts. |

Lubricators &
Thinners
|
| |
|
Our
lubricators were specifically developed to be used with our Compound products
and offer the operator clean, safe performance on a wide variety of ferrous
and non-ferrous metals, ceramics, semi-conductor electronic applications
for exceptionally clean surface demands.
Today's lapping and
polishing industries have become so complex that our research laboratory
testing has created what we feel to be the basic three lubricants:
Oil soluble lubricants
Water Soluble lubricants
Combination Oil & Water Soluble lubricants
These lubricators
offer excellent a high standard of lubricity designed for heat stability
and deterioration resistance for maximized lapping and polishing action
of our diamond lapping compounds or diamond powders.
